Q.
What Is Nudism and Naturism?
A.
Naturism and nudism are the respective practices of naturists and nudists. The dictionary defines a nudist as "one who believes in or practices going nude, especially in secluded, in groups for reasons of health or religion".
Generally, a nudist or naturist is merely someone who enjoys being nude for a non-sexual purpose. many people think of naturists as living in harmony with nature, this can range from meaning living as nature intended (without clothing) to living in total harmony with the environment and ecology. It is also rumored that a number of genuine nudists started calling themselves naturists in the 70's, when "swingers" started calling themselves nudists, and some people associated nudists with sexual freedom. These days the three terms, nudism, nudist and naturism, are broadly synonymous and most people are happy to be called either. Naturists come in all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life, and from every race on the planet.
Many people think that they couldn't go publicly nude because they are too fat/thin, short/tall, ugly/handsome etc. Women sometimes worry about the size and shape of their breasts, while some men have similar concerns about their penis at first. The truth is, if you're in a naturist environment, this is completely unfounded as the people you meet will care very little about how you look. A big part of being a naturist is not only accepting others for who they are, but also for accepting yourself for who you are.
